Some of you may wonder what Entrecard is. You may have noticed the Entrecard widget in the right sidebar which features an ad and below the ad a drop button. Each ad runs for 24 hours before another ad will be displayed.
So, what exactly is Entrecard?
Entrecard is a social network for bloggers. You can earn credits for browsing other blogs in the community and use those credits to place ads on blogs. It is free to join and the community is a great place to interact with other bloggers. Entrecard is holding a contest right now to increase their exposure.
What are the pros and cons of Entrecard?
Let's start with the pros
1. Great Community. Entrecard is filled with quality blogs from great authors who blog just about anything. There are plenty of categories and you are sure to find some great content.
2. Fun to use. It does not take a lot of time to browse the blogs, but you will spend more time than you plan because you will find yourself reading the blogs. After a while in the community you will have your favorite blogs and look forward to new posts by your favorite authors.
3. Exposure. This depends on how active you are in the community and how successful you plan your ad campaigns. As with everything in the blogosphere, content is key. After you join Entrecard, you will see that the most popular blogs are those who have great content, feature good designs and offer something of value. The Last Bear has been part of the community since it earlier stages and always enjoyed good exposure and traffic from the network.
Here are some cons
1. Some blogs don't have widgets. You can report those blogs and they should either be reminded to place a widget on their blog or they will be removed.
2. Some blogs are low quality. There are blogs which don't belong in the community due to their lack of quality. Standards should be raised.
3. Maintenance of the network. There are a few blogs which have not posted in months and they are a drag on the community.
4. Sponsor Ads. This was a huge issue when it was introduced. In the beginning this was not available, but introduced to the community. Plenty of blogs have left the community as a result.
Conclusion
Entrecard is a great network for bloggers. There are some issues, but they are rather minor and it is definitely worth to check them out and see if you can achieve desired results. You can greatly increase your exposure and interact with other bloggers. It is fun to be part of the community and you are guaranteed to stumble upon some great content or find useful information.
